DNA New Media Group Spins Off Visual Business Solutions
New Company Develops Software Solutions and Products for Technology-Enabled Selling, Brand Management, Channel Management
CHICAGO, October 6, 1997 -- DNA New Media Group, one of the world's foremost communications integrators, has created a new company that develops customized software products and client solutions driving the most advanced technology trends in product sales and marketing.
The new company, DNA Visual Business Solutions Inc., develops customized software solutions for Fortune 2000 corporations that support business initiatives in three primary categories: technology-enabled selling (TES); brand management; and channel management. DNA Visual Business Solutions also packages and markets proprietary software tools to other technology solution providers, systems integrators and software developers to help them develop business software solutions.
The new company has been formed around DNA's InDX Visual Business Suite™, a proprietary set of software tools that help companies organize, update and use any type of computer-based visual information that can be stored in either local or remote databases. InDX enables the development of customized "hybrid" business software solutions that deliver via CD-ROM and the World Wide Web any information, including simple documents, spreadsheets, presentations, full-screen video, virtual reality environments, and high-resolution 2-D and 3-D images.
InDX solutions work with all common business applications such as Microsoft Office, Lotus SmartSuite and Adobe Acrobat to make a company's existing product and brand easy to find, update and use. InDX solutions also are fully scaleable to grow with an organization's evolving communication needs and they can be delivered equally well to desktop PCs or laptops.
DNA already has successfully applied its InDX-based solutions to develop a series of multimedia CD-ROM "Brand Toolkits" for Tricon Global Restaurants Inc., (formerly PepsiCo Restaurants International), the world's largest restaurant system. These Brand Toolkits seamlessly integrate Tricon's extensive libraries of text-based and multimedia information to help KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurant franchisees and marketing personnel plan, manage and execute their global brands. DNA also has used InDX technology to create similarly advanced products for the worldwide sales force of Federal Express Corporation.
These early applications attracted the attention of Intel Corporation, which invited DNA to participate in its international web agency and technology access partner programs. DNA is the first organization to be accepted into both programs.
David Wallinga, president and chief executive officer of DNA Visual Business Solutions, and co-founder of DNA New Media Group, explained that the formation of the new company is part of a dramatic evolution that is taking place throughout corporate America.
"Widespread reengineering of large company sales forces, among other factors, has spawned a new breed of consultative sales specialists who absolutely require the support that we can provide through today's most advanced multimedia technologies," Mr. Wallinga said. "Our InDX-based solutions already have generated positive, bottom-line results for companies like Tricon and FedEX. The formation of DNA Visual Business Solutions will enable us to more effectively meet the growing corporate demand for these types of practical, customized solutions." DNA Visual Business Solutions Inc. is the country's leading developer of customized software solutions for corporations requiring technology-enabled selling (TES); brand management; and channel management.
DNA Visual Business Solutions also packages and markets proprietary software tools based on its InDX Visual Business Suite™ to other technology solution providers, systems integrators and software developers to help them develop business software solutions. Headquartered in Chicago, DNA Visual Business Solutions is a participant in Intel Corporation's International Web Agency and Technology Access Partner programs. DNA is the first organization to be accepted into both Intel programs.
