DNA CEO Speaks at Summer Internet World
David Wallinga Details How Hybrid Technologies Improve Technology-Enabled Selling
CHICAGO, July 13 -- On Friday, July 17, David Wallinga, president and chief executive officer of Chicago-based DNA Visual Business Solutions, will be a featured speaker at Summer Internet World '98.
Mr. Wallinga's speech, entitled "Simple Steps for Successful Technology-Enabled Selling" is part of Internet World's world-renowned conference program. His one-hour seminar (session 314) is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
Sales force automation tools have moved beyond content managers and tracking devices to true Technology-Enabled Selling (TES) tools; however, many companies are turning to Web-based tools, which present a new set of challenges. Mr. Wallinga's session will focus on how hybrid TES tools can result in maximized sales force productivity and increased revenues.
"There is a strong push to get critical, commerce-supporting information across the enterprise to the point of sale," says Mr. Wallinga. "At this point, the Web isn't ready to serve as the panacea to everyone's information delivery needs. Most companies lack the necessary bandwidth to support today's advanced information needs, especially in terms of rich media content: video, audio and multimedia. While the bandwidth issues will definitely resolve themselves in the future, we're just not there yet. Additionally, there are issues of connectivity for the salesperson working in the field. That's where hybrid tools come into play, to provide an effective transition between the "state of the art" and the "state of the market."

Industry analysts, The Yankee Group, called hybrid CD-ROMs "one of the most overlooked" Net-enabled applications.
